The Sound is more than a country group.
It’s a family.
Father Ron and his sons, Jacob and Levi, have been making music together since the boys were children, dreaming that one day they would perform on one of the biggest stages in the world.
That dream finally came true on America’s Got Talent.
Instead of starting with their instruments, the trio began singing Take Me Home, Country Roads completely a cappella.
Then they invited the audience to clap along.
Within seconds, thousands of people were keeping the beat together.
The theater came alive.
When the instruments joined in, the family’s beautiful three-part harmony filled every corner of the room.
Their voices blended so perfectly that it sounded as if they had been singing together their entire lives.
By the final chorus, the audience was standing, clapping, and singing along.
The judges couldn’t stop smiling.
Mel B admitted that country music wasn’t usually her favorite genre, but said their family harmonies were simply perfect.
Howie Mandel joked that they held the last note for so long he thought the stage crew would have to escort them off.
Even Simon Cowell, who called the song choice a safe one, praised their undeniable talent and the way they connected with the audience from the very first moment.
Although all the Golden Buzzers had already been used earlier in the auditions, The Sound didn’t need one to prove they belonged.
All four judges proudly voted “Yes,” sending the family trio into the next round.
